The Opera de Monte-Carlo has announced its 2018-19 season, featuring a number of important stars and numerous productions.
Here is a look at the unique season Monte Carlo will offer.
The season opens with an evening entitled Opera-Comique at the Chapelle Musicale Reine-Elizabeth.
Performance Dates: Oct. 13-14, 2018
A screening of “La Veuve?Joyeuse” continues the season.
Performance Dates: Oct. 25, 2018
The Ballet de Shangai visits the Opera de Monte-Carlo for an evening of dance.
Performance Dates: Nov. 7, 2018
Saint Saen’s “Samson et Dalila” will feature Anita Rachvelishvili with Aleksandrs Antonenko. They will star in anew production by Jean-Louis Grinda with Kazuki Yamada?conducting the work.
Performance Dates: Nov. 19-25, 2018
Verdi’s early masterpiece “Luisa Miller”?continues to be revived, this time in?a concert performance?featuring Aleksandra Kurzak in the title role. She is joined by husband?Roberto Alagna, Elena Maximova, Artur Rucinski.

Verdi’s “Falstaff” takes the stage in a new production by Jean-Louis Grinda. Maurizio Benini conducts a distinguished cast that includes Nicola Alaimo, Enea Scala, Rachele Stanisci, and Ana Maria Chiuri.
Performance?Dates: Jan. 25-31, 2019?
Cecilia Bartoli sings the title role of Handel’s “Ariodante” alongside Kathryn Lewek and Christophe Dumaux. Peter Kalman and Norman Reinhardt round out the cast, which is conducted by Gianluca Capuano. Christof?Loy directs the production from the Salzburg Festival.
Performance Dates: Feb. 22-28, 2019
Mozart’s “The Abduction of the Seraglio” is set to star Jodie Devos, Brenton Ryan, and Rebecca Nelsen. Dieter Kaegi directs the new production with Patrick Davin conducting.

Verdi’s “Otello” concludes the season in a new production by Allex Aguilera. Gregory Kunde sings the title role with Maria Agresta and George Petean. Daniele Callegari conducts.
Performance Dates: April?21-30, 2019
Sonya Yoncheva will bring a recital featuring music from a variety of composers including Verdi, Tosti, Catalani, and Puccini.
Cecilia Bartoli On Tour?
Cecilia Bartoli and the Opera de Monte-Carlo will be on tour throughout the season. The tour will include performances of “La Cenerentola,” concerts with Javier Camarena, and solo concerts. The tour will include concerts in Vienna, Munich, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Luxembourg among others.
